Indications:
Travel, or residence in endemic
areas.

Travel to rural
regions in endemic areas should be considered for
vaccination. Travel that is restricted to major
urban areas should not be advised to receive
vaccination. |

When to give:
Three shot series is recommended at
0,7,30 day prior to travel. Accelerated vaccine schedule
may be given at 0,7,14 days. In extreme cases, two does
given one week apart will confer approximately 80 %
immunity. |
|

Contraindications: |
|
Should be avoided in pregnancy, unless
risk is high.
Persons with known hypersensitivity to the vaccine
should not be vaccinated. Persons with multiple
allergies, a history of urticaria or angioedema for any
reason are at higher risk for allergic reactions from
the JE vaccine |
