- Personal prescription medications Make sure you have
generic and trade name, and you need a letter from your
doctor regarding your need for injectable medications
or controlled substances
- Antimalarial medications, if traveling to area of risk
- Antidiarrheal medication (e.g., Peptobismol ®(bismuth
subsalicylate), Immodium AD ®)
- Antibiotic in case you develop moderate to severe diarrhea
- Antihistamine
- Antimotion sickness medication
- Acetaminophen, aspirin, ibuprofen, or other medication for
pain or fever
- Cough suppressant/expectorant
- Throat lozenges
- Antacid
- Antifungal (Lamisil AT ® or Lotrimin AF® )and
antibacterial creams (ie. Triple aintbiotic ointment i.e.
Neosporin ®)
- 1% hydrocortisone cream
- Epinephrine auto-injector (e.g., EpiPen) for those with
history of sever allergic reactions
- Insect repellent containing DEET (For those sensitive to
DEET, look for product called
Cactus
Juice.)
- Sunscreen (SPF 15 or greater)

- Aloe gel for sunburns
- Digital thermometer
- Oral rehydration solution packets

- Basic first-aid items ( bandages, 4 X 4 gauze, ace wrap
4", tweezers, scissors, cotton-tipped applicators,
antiseptic)
- Antibacterial hand wipes or alcohol-based hand sanitizer
- Moleskin for blisters
- Lubricating eye drops
